Reduce your emissions
Turning a footprint into a reduction plan
Once you have a measured baseline, reducing your emissions is about deciding what to cut, in what order and by when. We read your footprint to find the hotspots, the handful of sources that drive most of your total, then build a practical plan that balances quick wins against bigger structural changes. Reduction advice is part of our sustainability advisory work, and it always starts from real numbers rather than assumptions.
Hotspots, quick wins and structural change
Most footprints follow the same pattern: a small number of activities account for the majority of emissions. Ranking your emissions by source and size tells you where effort will actually move the total, so you are not spending time and money on things that barely register.
From there we separate quick wins from structural change. Quick wins are low-cost actions you can take this year: switching to a cleaner energy tariff, cutting waste, tightening travel policy. Structural changes, such as heating systems, fleet electrification or moving to lower-carbon suppliers, need more capital and lead time but deliver the deepest, most durable cuts.
A plan needs a destination. We help you set a reduction target that is ambitious but genuinely achievable, whether an internal goal or one informed by science-based approaches, and turn it into a costed, sequenced roadmap with owners and dates. Then you measure against it each year.
Reduction sits within our sustainability consultancy, and every plan builds on the footprint from our carbon reporting service. Not measured yet? Start by measuring your carbon footprint. For the emissions you genuinely cannot remove, the next step is to offset responsibly.
Where should we start cutting emissions?
With the hotspots your footprint reveals. We rank emissions by source and size so effort goes where it counts, rather than being spread thinly across things that barely move the total.
What's the difference between quick wins and structural changes?
Quick wins are low-cost actions you can take this year, such as switching tariffs or cutting waste. Structural changes, such as heating systems, fleet or supplier choices, take longer and more capital but deliver the deepest, most durable cuts.
Do we need a formal reduction target?
A clear target keeps a plan honest and focused. That might be an internal reduction goal or one informed by science-based approaches; we help you choose a target that is ambitious but genuinely achievable for your organisation.
Is reduction planning a separate service?
Reduction advice sits within our sustainability advisory work, and it always builds on a measured footprint. Once we know where your emissions come from, we help you turn that into a practical, costed roadmap.
Build a reduction plan that sticks
We will help you find the hotspots, choose the right target and turn it into a roadmap your team can actually deliver.
