Dr. Thomas A. Poynter
Thomas Poynter advises companies on creating and maintaining their competitiveness,
and solving strategic and implementation problems along the way. He, and The
Transitions Group, Inc. - the non-traditional consulting company he founded –
have been senior advisors to Nokia for over a decade; BP Oil Europe – (complete
reformulation and implementation of their downstream strategy and organization);
Pininfarina SpA; and the Volkswagen Audi Group. Other long-term clients were
in the electrical utility and convenience store industries.
After several years of building start-ups in the 1970s and a Ph. D. at the London
Business School, Thomas taught Business Policy at the University of Western Ontario’s
School of Business and then the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan
School.
Dr. Poynter is highly considered for his skills in helping managers deal with new
opportunities, new environments, and new threats – both internal and external.

Julian is Chief Executive of Abchurch Communications, one of the UK’s leading
financial, investor and corporate communications consultancies, advising more than
70 clients, over 60 of which are Listed on the London Stock Exchange. Abchurch
is recognised as a specialist in IPOs, advising both domestic and overseas companies
on successful communications surrounding a UK Listing and the aftermarket.

Mr
Mark Oglesby
During the past 20 years, Mark Oglesby has worked as independent marketeer, PR consultant
and copywriter, primarily in the business-to-business field. His interests range
from environmental sustainability through to the effective management, marketing
and promotion of small, medium and large organisations. Although he works primarily
with blue chip organisations (clients include Visa, Toyota and Shell) he has also
worked extensively with non commercial entities (such as Amnesty International)
and lesser known brands. For the past 18 years, Mark has advised and written for
the current UK law firm of the year. In all cases, his marketing and writing background
ensures that business messages hit home with the greatest possible impact.
